Six Days to Easter -- Day Five

Faith to Heal Friday --

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5 KJV

What did the prophet Isaiah mean when he wrote these words hundreds of years before Jesus was ever even born? What is the significance? Isaiah is prophesying of a Messiah that would come to sacrifice Himself and suffer for the iniquities and transgressions of the world. A Lord and Savior who would lay down His life so that we may live in eternity.

In the fifth day leading up to Easter (John 19), we find Jesus being scourged. The soldiers place a crown of thorns upon His head and wrap him up in a purple robe out of mockery. He suffers through thirty-nine whips of the cat of nine tails. Our Lord and Savior, the being who created us, suffers through unimaginable pain so that we might be healed and receive the greatest gift man ever has or ever will receive, salvation.

Throughout the Bible, we see many different instances where miracles of healing took place in people’s lives. Jesus heals the sick, makes the lame to walk, causes deaf ears to open and He gives sight to the blind. Not only did Jesus perform miracles himself, but we find God perform miracles, through the disciples as well. That same God exists today and wants to bring healing to your life. John 14:12 says “and greater works than these shall he do.” Not only do we have access to those same miracles of healing that took place back then, but the Bible clearly states that we will see GREATER works! Unleash your faith and see what God can do in your life today.

Friday’s Challenge – Today as we bind together and pray, release your faith and believe in the healing that is going to take place in your life or in the life of that friend or loved one that you know who is suffering. God has given us authority and the ability to see miracles take place through our faith. Regardless of what your situation may be, big or small, give it to God and let Him show you what He can do when we put all of our trust in Him.
